Chichen Itza!

I could go on and on about Chichen Itza! It's one of the seven wonders of the world and being two hours away we HAD to see it! We rented a van with the Spence's and Stevenson's and drove to see it! We had an LDS tour guide who knew EVERYTHING about Chichen Itza - he grew up working there! His name was Able! One of the amazing things we learned was about the acoustics there! When you clap your hands you can hear the echo for miles! It helped me to understand how King Benjamin was heard by SO many people - they were genius in their building!
Inside there's a smaller temple that just two years ago people could go in an see - you also used to be able to walk up the stairs. Now that it's one of the seven wonders you can't anymore! It was special spirit there! We grew to love and appreciate the Mayan people! They had the most accurate calendar of any ancient civilization - they knew the exact day that the season's changed! They built an observatory to look out the constellations - the knowledge they had was amazing!

There are thousands of these posts - each one with a warrior carved on it! Able said, "Why not 2,000 - 2,000 stripling warriors!!"
When the sun rises on this it's amazing! It represents the resurrection!
The famous sinkhole where some believe the Mayan's offered human sacrifice! Able teaches that they offered sacrifice - material sacrifice not human! Still.... very interesting!
